Clara L. Anderson, of North Branch and formerly of Brown City died August 17, 2002 in Grand Blanc. She was born April 14, 1911 in Marmaduke, Arkansas to Lonzo and Martha Vaught. She married Charles L. Anderson on July 2, 1926 in Leachville, Arkansas.

A housewife and mother she also owned and operated "Mom's Restaurant" in Brown City for 9 years. She also drove for Travco Corporation delivering motor homes. Clara had also been a member of Rebeccah's Lodge in Yale for over 50 years. She had attended Calvary Baptist Church in Brown City for many years.

She is survived by three daughters; Helen Bigelow, North Branch, Melba (David) Sarchett, Flint and Janet Summerfield, Flint, 5 grandchildren; Wayne and Eric Bigelow, Rebecca King and Julie Chappell and Timothy Sarchett, 5 great grandchildren and 2 brothers; Earl and Omer Vaught and 2 sisters; Lula Brush and Edra Hayes.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charles L. Anderson and a son Charles W. Anderson and 2 son in laws Marvin Bigelow and Robert Summerfield, 2 sisters Lavada and Gertrude and 2 brothers Chester and Amos.

A gathering for family and friends will be Monday from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Brown City VFW or the American Cancer Society.
