Betty L. Curtis, age 80 of Melvin, Michigan died Friday, January 17, 2003 in Port Huron, Michigan. Whe was born February 21, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan She attended Southeastern High School in Detroit, Michigan. On September 4, 1965 she married Arnold curtis.

A mother and grandmother she had also worked as a Medical Assistant in Detroit, Michigan at the Mount Elliot Medical Center for Doctors Levin, Fadool and Brockington. She was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brown City, Michigan where she served on the Worship and Music Committee.

She is survived by five children: Douglas (Land) Curtis, Florida, Kathlyn (Charles) Crump, Clinton Township, Michigan, Michael (Hsiang) McCullough, Melvin, Michigan, Kurt (Nancy) Curtis, Sterling Heights, Michigan, Jacquelyn (Tim) Hering, Lexington, Michigan, eighteen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren and a cousin Luella Creenan.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Julius Verenocke, Alfred McCullough and Arnold Curtis.

A gathering of friends and relatives will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2003 from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, January 19, 2003 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City, Michigan. Funeral services will be Monday, January 20, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with burial to follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Yale, Michigan.
