Stanley D. Griggs, age 78, of Peck, Michigan, died January 29, 2004 in Zephryhills Florida. He was born November 3, 1925 in Peck, Michigan to Elmer and Ethel Griggs. He married Betty Jane Fletcher on June 12, 1947 in Peck, Michigan. He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Stan co-owned and operated G. I. Diary in Brown City, Michigan for 30 years delivering milk door to door in Peck and Brown City areas. He always farmed and also worked for the Peck Department of Public Works for over 10 years.
He enjoyed raising horses and harness horse racing. He was a member of the Peck American Legion, Elk Township Fire Department and served as an Elk Township Trustee.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Betty Jane Griggs, 2 children; Larry (Susan) Griggs of Lake Leelanau, Michigan and Jerry (Cheri) Griggs of Peck, Michigan,  grandchildren; Jeremy, Jodi, Jason, Kelly, Josh and Nick and a sister Louann Cratty of Warren, Michigan.

A gathering for family and friends will be Monday, February 2, 2004 from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm and on Tuesday, February 3, 2004 from 2:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City, Michigan.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, February 4, 2004 at 11:00 am in Brown City, Michigan with burial to be in Elk Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Cheryl Fletcher Care Fund.
