
Dr. H. Ray Kraft, age 76 died Wednesday, December 25, 2002 at his home in Brown City, Michigan. He was born September 22, 1926 in Marlette to Louis and Rhoda Kraft. He graduated from Marlette High School Class of 1923 and served in the US Army During WWII in Japan. He married Wilma Lee Fellows on May 24, 1946.
A veterinarian, he began his practice of the Brown City Veterinary Clinic in 1952. He was co-founder of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brown City. He was active in the community, serving on the school board for many years, charter member of Brown City Rotary Club and a Paul Harris Fellow, an assistant professor of veterinary medicine at the M.S.U. Veterinary School, a member of the Peck American Legion, the Brown City VFW, Sanilac County Veterinary Association and the Brown City Masonic Lodge. He served many years as president of the Trinity Lutheran Church Council.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Wilma Lee Kraft, four children: 3 daughters RaeAnn (RJ) Kreiner, Dixie (Terry) Knappins, Robin (Steve) Mitchell, and a son Michael (Sue) Kraft, 9 grandchildren: Travis, "T.R.", Zachary, Derek, Tyne, Devyn, Kynson, Rowyn, and Joshua, a sister Francis (Jim) Sterling and a brother Richard (Sharon) Kraft.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Kraft.
Visitation will be in Carman Funeral Home in Brown City on Saturday, December 28, 2002 from 12:00 - 9:00 p.m. and prior to funeral Services on Sunday, December 29, 2002 from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Brown City, Michigan. A Masonic service will be Saturday evening.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 29, 2002 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Brown City at 2:00p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery.
