Philip L. Machiela, age 59, of Brown City, Michigan, died November 3, 2004. He was born December 13, 1944 in Lapeer, Michigan to Cornelius and Cecile Machiela. He graduated from Lapeer West High School, class of 1963. He married Shirley Burgess on June 12, 1965

He worked as a carpenter, owned and operated Phil Machiela Builder. Prior to that he had worked for Morton Buildings, Brown City, Michigan. He enjoyed helping people and working on their projects.

Philip is survived by his wife of 39 years, Shirley, 2 sons, Chad (Christina) Machiela of Washington State, and Jeff Machiela of Brown City, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius and Cecile; a brother Charles and a son Jamie.

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, November 5, 2004 from 6:00 - 9:00 P.M. and Saturday, November 6, 2004 from 2:00 - 9:00 P.M. at the Carman Funeral Home in Brown City, Michigan. Funeral services will be Sunday, November 7, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at the Brown City United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Sanilac Scoopers or the Sanilac County Animal Control.
