Donald M. Newlin, Age 70, of Imlay City died Saturday, March 15, 2003 in Lapeer. He was born March 30, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan to Cecil and Flora Newlin. He served in the United States Air Force and married Betty Smith on September 27, 1951 in Imlay City, Michigan.

He retired from the Ford Sterling Plant and had also worked at Champion in Dryden and Active Homes in Marlette, Michigan.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Betty and 4 children, Steve (Josafine) Newlin, Imlay City, Michigan, Janet (Charles) Stanley, Melvin, Michigan Ruth (Mike) Houser and David (Holly) Newlin, Decatur, 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, 2 sisters Martha Scully and Louise Somerville.

A gathering will be held at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City on Tuesday, March 16, 2003 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and Monday, March 17, 2003 from 4:00 - 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Black officiating and burial in Evergreen Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to McLaren Hospice.
