
Gladys Marie Shoemaker, age 86 of Brown City died November 6, 2002 in Lapeer. She was born June 10, 1916 in Brown City to Joseph and Violet Muxlow. She married Laverne Shoemaker on May 8, 1943
She was a cheerful and loving mother and grandmother. Gladys was a devoted caregiver to her husband of 58 years as well as to her family and extended family. Surprisingly she loved adventure and was well traveled. She also loved and cherished her grandchildren.
Gladys is survived by her two sons; Dennis (Sue) Shoemaker and Thomas Shoemaker, two grandchildren; Trent and Justin, a brother Milford Muxlow and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Shoemaker, her brothers Clayton and Bernard McMann and sisters Belva Muxlow, Arleen Mitchell, Iris Franklin and Hazel McMann.
A visitation will be in Carman Funeral Home in Brown City on Friday, November 8, 2002 from 1:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Fellowship Bible church with Pastor Richard Black officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
