
Elmer W. Young, age 85 of Brown City, Michigan died Monday, January 27, 2003 in Lansing, Michigan. He was born May 12, 1917 in Burnside Township, Michigan to John and Nettie Young. He attended Deanville Country School. He married Marie Mawhorter on December 24, 1940 in Napoleon, Ohio.
A farmer, he also worked for National Twist Drill for 27 years. He spent many winters in Florida. He attended Fellowship Bible Church in Brown City, Michigan.
Elmer is survived by his wife of 62 years, Marie, two sons: Richard (Pat) Young and Lyle (Sharon) Young, six grandchildren: Rick (Brenda), Jim (Shelley), Geri Lynn (Paul) Crenshaw, Karen (Tony) Wey, Dan (lean) and Debra (Peter) Brown. Fourteen great-grandchildren, and a brother Lyle Young.
He was preceded in death by a brother Lester Young and a sister Vera Black.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2003 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, January 29, 2003 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at Carman Funeral Home in Brown City, Michigan with Pastor Black officiating. Burial will be in West Goodland Township Cemetery.
