Our beautiful facility is located 1500 feet off Van Dyke Road - follow the driveway next to the old barn (our Scooby Doo sign points the way). Feel free to come and visit our beautiful facilities.

We are a one on one only boarding kennel which means we specialize and customize our one on one care for each and every pet. Your pet is greeted, petted, brushed and played with several times daily. No animal is ever left wanting or needing at Darrk Starr Dog Boarding.

We do special needs animals for example, diabetic, elderly, young, healing, or hyper-active, we love them all. We also board cats, rabbits, hamsters and other pocket pets.

The kennel features exercise yards (not guillotine doors), natural lighting, ventilation and the ability to make your pet feel like he is outdoors all day long by sliding back our buildings end doors.

We are open 365 days a year. We have 2 furnaces in the winter and backup generators in case of emergency.

My name is Bev and my husband Mark and I live here. We offer "Around the Clock Care". We have owned pets since we were very small, Mark grew up on a polled Hereford farm which also had many other farm animal to tend to. I grew up with hunting dogs and poodles. Mark and I have had Great Danes for more than 15 years. Before and during that time we had numerous Dobermans and other dogs, as well as cats, pigs, turkeys, ducks and the horses that we still have.

I am the chief employee, also a national certified pharmacy technician and I worked for Wilson Veterinarian Hospital in Romeo. My kennel help is my husband. Since this is also a residence we can be flexible with our hours if necessary, but on the other hand we have to have times when we are closed as well. We encourage our customers to call anytime day or night that they need us. We try to answer the phone always. If not leave a message because sometimes I can't hear the phone for dogs barking.

One more service we offer at Darrk Starr is bathing and toe nail trims for an unbelievably low price.

Our boarding fees range from $7.00 to $16.00 a day, depending upon the size of the boarder.

There are 3 requirements to board at Darrk Starr

1. Proof of current vaccines
2. Your pets favorite food
3. And anything else you would like your pet to have for example, pet beds, blankets, toys, rawhide bones, whatever makes our pet comfy.
