Emma A. Alfastsen, age 94, of Lum, Michigan passed away Friday, June 18, 2004 in Lapeer Regional Hospital.
Emma Amelia Gross was the daughter of Charles and Rose (Gorbe) Gross born September 5, 1909 in Beltek, Hungary.
Emma grew up in Seanor, Pennsylvania and in 1929 they moved to Detroit, Michigan and then to the Highland Park, Michigan area. they moved to the Lum area in 1975.
Emma married Thomas Alfastsen in Detroit, Michigan on February 6, 1940. He died in 1981
she had worked for the Holley Carburetor Company and for the Saunders Candy and Ice Cream Company in Detroit, Michigan. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Imlay City, Michigan.

Emma is survived by sisters; Ethel Prain of Livonia, Michigan and Helen LaBine of Attica, Michigan, and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Alfastsen and her parents Charles and Rose Gross, brothers; Louis Gross, Charles Gross and Steven Gross, and sisters; Margaret Horvath, Mary Mannion, and Hazel Fokken.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Father Ezequel Mondragon will officiate. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery in Southfield, Michigan.

Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Sunday, June 20, 2004 and 2-5 and 6-8 pm Monday, June 21, 2004 with an 8:00 P.M. Rosary at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City, Michigan.
