
Alfred William Davis, age 86, of Imlay
City, Michigan passed away at his home Thursday, October 20, 2004 after an
extended illness.
Alfred was born the son of Edwin and Blanche (Stover) Davis on June 7, 1918 in
Imlay City, Michigan.
He has spent most of his life in Imlay City, attending Imlay City High School
and Flint High School.
Alfred married Doloris Maxine Becker on December 18, 1943 in Imlay City,
Michigan.
Alfred was in the U.S. army during WW II. He was a foreman with Brisk Foundry in
Imlay City until he retired in 1977 after 37 years. He also did carpentry work
(between 1977 - 1981), and was the sexton for Imlay Township Cemetery from 1981
until 1996.
His only son Grant Davis passed away in 1967.
Alfred is survived by his wife Doloris Davis of Imlay City, Michigan, several nieces and nephew; sisters-in-law Vera Barrons of Kingston, Michigan, Stella Becker of Applegate, Michigan, brother-in-law Mervin Becker of Applegate, Michigan, half brother Edwin (Bonita) Davis of Green Valley, Arizona.
Alfred is preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Blanche Davis, son Grant Davis, and an infant brother.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2004 at the Imlay City United Methodist Church. pastor Kevin Harbin will officiate with interment at Imlay Township Cemetery. There will be visiting from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at the church.
Friends may call Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 N. Main, Imlay City, Michigan, where the family will be available for visiting from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday October 22, 2004.
