
Ralph Milton Smith, age 86 of Imlay City, Michigan passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2003 at Home. He was born Augusts 12, 1916 in North Branch, Michigan to Milton and Bessie (Switzer) Smith. He lived in the Imlay City area for 50 years and was previously from Detroit and Buffalo, New York. He graduated from high school in Detroit and serviced in the US Army Air Corp. as a Staff Sergeant during WWII.
He was married to Zola Marie Weyer on October 23, 1948 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He had been employed as a Logistical Comptroller in the Shipping Department at the Flint Chevrolet Assembly Plant for 34 years and also doing carpentry with Lou Pickleman. He as a life member of the Imlay City F.&A. M, Royal Arch Masons. He and Zola traveled all over the world.
He is survived by his wife: Zola Smith of Imlay City, Daughter: Caroline Sue Person of Canton, Michigan, Sons: Dale Allen (and Susanna) Smith of Greenwood, Indiana and Brian R. Smith of Naperville, Illinois. 4 Grandchildren: Sean Smith, Adam Smith, Michelle (and Chris) Costa. Brother: Loren Smith of East Pointe, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Bessie Smith; brother, Jim Smith and sister Betty Ann Seleske.
Family will be available for visitation on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 from 2-5 and 7-9pm and Wednesday, January 22, 2003 from 2-5 and 7-9pm at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, 225 Main Street, Imlay City, Michigan. Funeral services will take place on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 1:00 PM. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home. Pastor Keller will officiate with burial in Imlay Township Cemetery, Imlay City, Michigan.
