
Theodore "Ted" Surgener, age 72, of
Arcadia Township, passed away Tuesday August 24, 2004 at Crittenton Hospital.
Ted was the son of Jim and Maggie (Beech) Surgener born July 8, 1932 in Harlan
County, Kentucky.
Ted served his country in the US Army during the Korean War from 1949 to 1952.
He was discharged as a Corporal and had been awarded 5 Bronze Stars.
Ted married Marilyn Schneider on January 13, 1996 in Troy, Michigan.
He had resided in the Lum community since 1974.
Ted was employed by Press Productions in Troy (Auto Parts Manufacturer) as a
Tool Maker. He also was the Secretary/Treasurer of his local UAW.
Ted is survived by his wife; Marilyn Surgener of Arcadia Township, Michigan, 6 daughters; Pam (John) Brewer of Royal Oak, Michigan, Karen (Steve) Jackson of Macomb Township, Michigan, Theresa Surgener of Redford, Michigan, Kimberly (Dave) Wright of Warren, Michigan, Cheryl (James Dickson) Surgener of Clawson, Michigan, Debbie Root of West Bloomfield, Michigan, 2 sons; Ted (Carrie) Surgener of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Kevin (Kelly) Surgener of Garfield, Arkansas, 3 step-children; Tamberly (Steve) Koenig of Falls Church, Virginia, Lori (Rudy) Shepardson of Blanchard, Michigan, Richard (Nancy) Sheets of Flint, Michigan, 16 grandchildren, 7 brothers; Ernest (Betty) Surgener of Ohio, Manzo (Lula) Surgner of Ohio, Jimmy (Brenda) Surgener of Ohio, Finley (Dolly) Surgener of Ohio, Lynn (Jane) Surgener of Sterling Heights, Michigan, Joe (Shelby) Surgner of Las Vegas, Nevada, Robert (Patty) Surgener of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1 sister; Minerva Hensley of Harlan, Kentucky, sister-in-law; Boots Surgener of Lake City, Florida, several nieces and nephews and a very special nephew; Brian Surgener.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents Jim and Maggie Surgener.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2004 at the Lighthouse Church of God in Lapeer, Michigan. Burial will follow in the Arcadia Township Cemetery. Friends may call at Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City, Michigan, where the family will be available for visiting 2-5 and 6-9 pm, Thursday, August 26, 2004. There will be a Veteran's Salute Thursday evening at the funeral home.
