Ben VanderPloeg, age 78, of Imlay City, Michigan, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2004 at Marlette Extended Care Facility.
Ben was the son of Arthur and Dora (Wagenaar) VanderPloeg born August 13, 1925 in Imlay City, Michigan.
Ben spent all of his life in Imlay City.
He had been employed by General Motors, GM Parts in Pontiac retiring in 1976 after 30 years.

Ben is survived by  his wife: Jean VanderPloeg of Attica, Michigan, daughter; Dena (Nathan) Kinney of Waterloo, Iowa, Grandchildren; Mikayla McKay, Isis Kinney, Nathan Kinney, and Jacob Kinney, sister; Gertrude Laarman of Imlay City, Michigan.

He is preceded in death by; a daughter Joy Lynn in 1977, brothers; Clarence, Arnold and Peter VanderPloeg, sisters; Sylvia Milliken, Irene Walker and Rolina DeGroat.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, July 19, 2004 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City, Michigan. Pastor Jeff Krist with the Assembly of God Church will officiate. Burial of ashes at Imlay Township Cemetery.

Friends may call at Muir Brothers Funeral Home 225 N. Main Street, Imlay City, Michigan, where the family will be available for visiting from 4-8 p.m. Sunday, July 18, 2004.
