                                How to use the Anytown.info website

    The whole concept stressed throughout the Anytown.info site is based on one thing, simplicity. Between understanding hardware, software, and looking throughout the World Wide Web, Anytown Information understands how confusing it can get. That is why we are dedicated to providing a simple approach to help find what you are looking for. Since much of the information computer users are looking for is relevant to particular geographic regions, Anytown Information has broken the worldwide web down into individual cities. As you enter the Anytown.info web-site. you will see the jumping spider. You can either click directly on the spider to move on to the "clicker" page, or, if you wait a few seconds, the page will automatically advance to it by itself. If you are unfamiliar with the site and how to use it, there is a link on the initial jumping spider page which will take users to a different area of the site where they can find information about Anytown Information. This area of the site opens up into the announcements page. From here users can browse through and learn what's new and find documentation to help use and understand the Anytown.info web-site. You can also get to the "clicker" page to locate your town from here. It is recommended that users read through the announcements area of the site to learn about Anytown Information, its purpose, and what it has to offer. It is also recommended that users read about site limitations and understand them before proceeding.

    Once you proceed to the "clicker page, there are some small images of different regions which can be clicked on to bring up a map of that particular region. After selecting your appropriate choice, you can then click on your town. If you get a message that that town is not yet available, please be patient as we are working hard to make every town on the site available as soon as possible. For your convenience, we generally have all available towns listed on the marquis at the bottom of the "clicker" page for that region. If your town is not yet available, please click on the "Feedback" link at the left and let us know what you are looking for. If you like, we can send you E mail confirmation as to when that area will be available. please keep in mind, when you use this site, your feedback is a key component in tailoring this site to your liking. Please don't hesitate to tell us what you think.

    After finding your hometown, there is a consistent bar of links at the top of each towns page. Although these links are just like the next towns, they are independent of each other. The links are individually outlined in a little more detail below.

                                                                             THE LINKS

    "Search" This link allows users to use the Internet to it's fullest advantage. It allows for users to search the entire World Wide Web right from the Anytown.info site. Shortly users will also be able to search through the Anytown Information site itself to locate pages throughout our site. Simply enter what you're looking for, click on go, and you will have a list of all areas which match your criteria. From there, you can click on the selection of your choice and go to it.
    "Home" Since we try to put together some interesting photos for the towns front page, we have provided a link back to it in case users would like to have a second look and give them a chance to read the marquis again.
    "Clicker" After looking through a town, users may be intrigued as to what is available in another town. by clicking the "clicker" link, a selection of a different town is simple.
    "Our Hometown" Each town has different little facts and figures that make it unique. . We put together a little story about each and present it to give each community an opportunity to display its character.
    "Good Business" Since the primary resource of Anytown Information is good sponsorship, this is one of the most important areas of the site. This link on each towns page gives a listing of all area sponsors. From there, click on a name and go to that businesses web site. This is a great place for users to find area businesses, and at the same time, gives area businesses an excellent opportunity to showcase their business. We strongly encourage you to check these links out.
    "City Hall" Many times we like to know what is going on at city hall. This link provides a page for display of all relevant information regarding this area. We are trying to encourage the contribution by each city of their local minutes from their last meeting. If you look on your towns page, and cannot find the village minutes, please call your city hall and tell them that you would like to see them posted.
    "Library" Many towns have pre-established pages for their library. For convenience sake, we provide portal links to these pages. please see our area on portals at the end of this document. If there is not a pre-established page for the library, Anytown Information will construct a page for them free of charge.
    "Schools" Since most school districts have their own pre-established web pages, this link is also generally provided as a convenience. It gives users added simplicity in finding these pages. Most school pages have a URL that is comprised of a barrage of letters and dot's that are not easily remembered. Anytown Information provides a portal link to these simply for convenience. Please see our area on portal links located at the end of this document.
    "Churches" This area offers a chance for all religious organizations throughout the community to display their cause to the public. These pages are easily updatable so they can stay current and allow for updated messages from the church to those who are interested.
    "Events" This area of the Anytown.info web-site offers an opportunity for area organizations to post upcoming happenings throughout the community. It is unique in that as you scroll through the listings, you can click on a particular event to learn more about it.
    "Say Something Nice" As many different forms of media like to emphasize wrong doings throughout the world, Anytown Information would like to give users an opportunity to post some positive feedback on what they see happening throughout their community. As you look through this area of the site, there is a link at the bottom where individuals can click to post there own message to the public in this area. Perhaps you saw something interesting or had someone help you out. Express your gratitude and help build some positive attitude throughout your community.
    "Town Crier" This link is separated into five areas which give area residents a chance to keep up to date on area births, announced engagements, weddings, and military news. an added feature is the obituaries link where Anytown Information is working with many area funeral homes to display current obituaries in a timely fashion.
    "Community Groups" This is an area where different community groups can have their own web page constructed to help present their cause. All non profit groups are eligible for these pages at no cost. If you have a community group that may be interested, call Anytown Information at (810) 346-4561.
    "Weather" As a convenience, Anytown Information offers this portal link to allow users of the site up to the minute weather information through accuweather.com. Please see our section on portal links located at the end of this document.
    "Lottery" Many times computer users have a difficult time searching the Internet for appropriate lottery numbers. As a convenience, Anytown Information provides this as a portal link to the official Michigan State Lottery web site. Please see our section on portal links located at the end of this doucment.
    "Phone Directory" There are many times when I get annoyed at the phone company for charging us a dollar for some smart mouthed lady to give us a wrong number. For users convenience, a portal link to whitepages.com allows easy access to phone listings, directions, and maps. Please see our section on portal links at the end of this document.
    "Horoscope" Am I getting lucky today? I don't know, but, as another convenience Anytown Information provides a portal link to horoscope.com so users can monitor their astrological forecast. Please read the area on portal links at the end of this document.

    Gathering information is a crucial function of Anytown Information, we try to make it as simple as possible for individuals or groups to supply us with information. All areas of the site have contact links where you can provide us with any feedback you may have about the site. since this site is dedicated to serving you, it is important that you let us know what you think and what you would like to see.

    As we at Anytown Information look ahead, we realize the sky is the limit. This concept has so much potential, you cannot describe all the possibilities.
