Richard A. Gabler, age 78, passed away, Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Marlette Community Hospital Hospice House. Mr. Gabler has lived the past 5 years in Lapeer, Michigan and was previously from the Marlette area.

He was born February 27, 1924 in Detroit, Michigan son to the late Alfred and Ethel (Harvey) Gabler.

He served  his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Rhena Botjes on April 12, 1958 in Chatham Ontario, Canada.

Mr. Gabler worked for Chrysler Corporation as a administrator until his retirement in 1975.

He is survived by his wife Rhena, sons; Richard (Cindy) Gabler of Brown City, Michigan, Robert Gabler of Caro, Michigan, daughter, Patricia (Aaron) VanBuskirk of Sandusky, Michigan, grandchildren Eric, Brittany, Coty, and Chris.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 30, 2002 at 1:00 P.M. at Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, with Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating. Cremation will follow the service at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.

Memorials may be given to the Marlette Untied Hospice or the Marlette First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be held on Saturday 11L00 A.M. until the time of service.
