Ronald O. Gippert, age 67, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 24, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center - Harrison in Saginaw, Michigan. Mr. Gippert lived in Marlette, Michigan for 31 years and was previously from Lansing and Lapeer. He was born July 15, 1935 in Roscommon, Michigan son to Oliver and Olga (Liehne) Gippert.

He married Rita Roussin September 2, 1956 in Manistique, Michigan. Mr. Gippert was a member of the Lamotte Missionary Church and Lapeer Lions Club. He worked for John Deer as Territory Manager and Manager of Tri-Co Equipment and Lapeer Co-op for 25 years, retiring in 1996.

He is survived by his wife Rita, his mother, Olga Gippert of Roscommon, Michigan, three sons, Dr. Garry Gippert and wife Barbara Halkier of Copenhagen, Denmark, Pastor James Gippert and wife Laurie of Laporte, Indiana, Kurt Gippert of Chicago, Illinois, three daughters, Kathryn Ruby and husband Thomas Wilton of N. Lakeport, Michigan, Colleen McLaren and husband David of Holland, Michigan, Jill Latham and husband Leslie of Grand Haven, Michigan, two brothers, Paul Gippert and wife Sandra of Roscommon, Michigan, Carl Gippert and wife Suzanne of Farmington Hills, Michigan, sister Lois Kovach of Alma, Michigan, fourteen grandchildren, Terra Ruby; Carl - Erik Gippert; Noah, Crista and Gabrielle McLaren; Benjamin, Elissa, Joshua and Jeremy Latham; Caleb, Rachel, Hannah, Rebekah and Hope Gippert; one great grandchild Chloe Klebba.

He is preceded in death by his father and grandson Zachary Latham who passed away in 1994.

Cremation will take place at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, Michigan.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 30, 2002 at 1:00 pm in the Lamotte Missionary Church, with Rev. Art Wright officiating.
