Leona M. Johnson, age 84, died Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the Marlette Extended Care Facility in Marlette, Michigan.
She was born September 11, 1919 in Flint Michigan daughter to the late Ernest G. and Florence A. (Dodge) Robinson.
She married DeForest (Dee) R. Johnson December 28, 1944 in Grayling, Michigan. He preceded her in death on August 12, 1992.
Mrs. Johnson attended Fostoria High School and Tuscola County Normal. She earned a B.S. Degree from Central Michigan University and B.A. Degree from Eastern Michigan University.
She taught rural schools in Tuscola and Lapeer Counties for 9 years.
She also taught school for 38 years in Marlette, Michigan.
Leona was a member of the Marlette First Presbyterian Church.

 She is survived by one brother, Ernest J. Robinson and his wife JoAnn of Otisville, Michigan, many nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Don W. Robinson.

Funeral services will take place at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, Michigan on Sunday, January 4, 2004 at 1:30 P.M., with Rev. Kenneth Parker officiating.
Cremation will follow the service at the Sunset Valley Crematory in Bay City, with burial for her and her husband DeForest ashes will take place at the Watertown Township Cemetery near Fostoria, Michigan.

Memorials may be made to the Marlette Lions Club or Marlette First Presbyterian Church.

Visitation will be held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, Michigan on Saturday, January 3, 2004 from 1pm to 9 pm.
