Irene E. Springstead, age 74, died Saturday, September 20, 2003 at West Branch Regional Medical Center in West Branch, Michigan. Mrs. Springstead spent her summers in West Branch and winters in Bradenton, Florida.
She was born June 8, 1929 in Detroit, Michigan daughter to the late Robert and Elizabeth (Harcourt) Stewart.
She graduated from Redford Union High School in 1947
She married Ivan L. Springstead September 26, 1953 in Redford Township Michigan. He preceded her in death June 27. 2001.
Irene worked as a book keeper in retail and was a home maker.
She was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Bradenton, Florida, Sunshine Girls, Christian Business Woman Association, No Mads Club and also was on the Garden Lakes Estate Social Committee.
Mrs. Springstead enjoyed traveling, sewing, doing ceramics, quilting, crocheting and most of all her family.

She is survived by sons Stephen and Judith Springstead of Decker, Michigan, Philip and Laurice Springstead of Portage, Michigan, daughter Patricia Wiley of Holt, Michigan, sister in laws Margaret Springstead of Snover, Michigan, Blanche and Tom Sparks of Plantersville, Texas, brother in law Melt and Brenda Phillips of Cass City, Michigan, seven grandchildren Roger, Brian, Christopher, Annalisa and Sean Wiley, Lee and Sandra Springstead, four great grandchildren Sierra, Alexander, Cheyenne and Hunter.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David Springstead and brother Ernest Stewart.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 25, 2003 at 1:-- P.M. at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, Michigan with the Rev. Art Wright officiating.
Burial will be in the Mooretown Cemetery in Snover, Michigan
Donations may be given to the family
Casket bearers will be her grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Marsh Funeral Chapel in Marlette, Michigan on Wednesday, September 24, 2003 from 1pm to 9 pm.
