Warranties
When
you make an important investment in your home like installing a
new roof, you should understand the warranty protection that
comes with it. In addition to any warranty that may be provided
by V. A. Stratton Roofing and Siding for the labor and
installation of the roof, CertainTeed, Tamko and Owens Corning
provides you with a Standard Limited Warranty that covers
defects in your shingles.
Because CertainTeed roofing products are
manufactured to the highest quality standards, we confidently
include the additional assurance of SureStart protection with
all CertainTeed Shingles. SureStart provides the strongest
protection you can get in the vital early years after your new
roof has been installed. Simply put, if a manufacturing defect
is discovered during the SureStart period, CertainTeed will
provide reimbursement of 100% of the cost of the shingles and
labor to repair the defective shingles or apply new shingles to
replace the defective shingles (exclusive of costs of
tear-off and disposal, except for Grand Monor, Carriage House,
Presidential TL, and Landmark TL). SureStart is a 10-year
protection. There is also a 15-year algae resistance warranty
and a 10-year 110 mph wind warranty.
When you purchase the complete Owens Corning
Roofing System, you become eligible for our
Tru PROtection Preferred Limited Warranty,
which offers longer and more comprehensive coverage.
Both of these warranties now include the added
peace of mind of Tru PROtection, our extended period of non
prorated upfront
coverage. during the Tru PROtection period, both material and
labor costs are covered without proration. The Tru PROtection
period ranges from 3 to 5 years under the Standard Limited
Warranty and 5 to 15 years with our Tru PROtection Preferred
Limited Warranty

your new Elk products.
The Elk Peak Performance Contractor program consists of two
levels: Rainier and Everest. Both Rainier and Everest
contractors can offer homeowners a 10-Year Umbrella Coverage
Upgrade on your Elk roof or deck. Everest contractors can also
offer a 15-Year Umbrella Coverage Upgrade.
Standard Umbrella Coverage is 5 years of
non-prorated coverage offering materials and
application/reconstruction labor in the event of a defect in
materials or manufacturing workmanship that affects the
performance of your roof or deck. Contract your Peak Performance
Contractor for details about the umbrella coverage upgrades.
GAF’s warranties come with a special provision called the
Smart Choice® Protection Period that covers you against material
defects during the critical early years of your new roof. During
this period, in the event that you experience a material defect
on covered components, GAF will provide you with 100%
replacement materials and the reasonable cost of labor to
install them. This is important because some roofing warranties
may only provide replacement materials, but not the labor to
install them. The GAF Smart Choice® System Plus Ltd. Warranty
provides coverage against material defects for all major GAF
components on your roof (not just your shingles)—so you’ll have
the peace of mind of knowing that, if any covered roofing
component fails, it will be covered by the warranty
(see ltd. warranty for complete coverage and restrictions).
The warranty is available through GAF certified contractors, and
is a low-cost way to get up to 50 years of non-prorated coverage
(against material defects) on your new roofing system.
